Our supercomputer, SHIROKANE, has the largest computing capacity in Japan as a supercomputer dedicated to the life science field. SHIROKANE consists of three systems: Shirokane3, which has been in operation since January 2015, Shirokane4, which has been in operation since April 2017, and Shirokane5, which has been in operation since April 2019. The total computing performance is more than 1,250 TFLOPS, and the storage capacity is more than 30 Pbytes. This enormous amount of computing resources enables us to meet the demand in the field of genome related research.
